It's probably my favourite song. I believe in it a lot. It's a song that I would sing to my nieces or nephews. I wrote it for a friend of mine who ended up dying of cancer. It was her favourite song. So I think it's a kind of tribute to her. It's...like...sentimental to me.

Have any of you heard of a poet named Pablo Neruda? One of my favourite poets. In one of his poems he mentioned a blue guitar, for some reason the image really stuck with me. I started writing this song and I remembered that as a kid my Dad used to tell me not to wash my face too hard because it would get worn. He said "you're wearing your skin out". I thought what if you wished on the stars too much. I wondered if you're face would get moon worn. So that's what it's referring to in this song.
